Theatre Orchard Engagement

Unleashing the extraordinary inner artists in everyone!

Engagement is at the heart of everything we deliver and we are passionate about providing exciting arts opportunities for everyone in North Somerset.

We offer a menu of experiences and opportunities for schools, early years and further education settings, as well as targeted groups and the wider community – an open invitation for anyone to get in touch and discuss their ideas!

Participation opportunities vary in scale from stand alone, bespoke workshops to larger projects where communities co-create work with professional artists.

If you are interested booking a workshop or discussing your ideas for an engagement opportunity please contact our Engagement Manager, Angela Athay-Hunt, at engage@theatreorchard.org.uk.

Thanks to these funders for their invaluable support of Theatre Orchard’s Engage Programme:

Theatre Orchard’s Child Protection & Safeguarding Policy

At Theatre Orchard we are committed to the safe welfare of children and young people in all the work we do. Our dedicated team are trained in the latest safeguarding and child protection policies, to ensure that every experience we offer children as part of our creative programme of events, outreach and engagement, upholds safe practice within safe places. You can contact us at info@theatreorchard.org.uk with any queries or concerns and for more information on the latest policies surrounding child safety, visit www.nspcc.org.uk

Social Prescribing

Theatre Orchard has been running arts engagement sessions towards health and well-being in Weston-super-Mare for 13 years, and are delighted to have supported the instigation of a social prescribing role on Weston’s South Ward, enabling a 3 year pilot scheme that will assess the impact of creativity on individuals, communities and the health sector.   Weekly free drama sessions are running on Weston’s South Ward from February 2019; whilst these are part of the locality’s social prescribing service, they are also available to all.  This core provision is supplemented by a range of bespoke multi-arts projects throughout the year

If you are interested booking a workshop or discussing your ideas for an engagement opportunity please contact our Engagement Manager, Angela Athay Hunt (angela@theatreorchard.org.uk)

Update: Theatre Orchard’s Engagement work

In the light of the current COVID-19 guidance, we have sadly but inevitably postponed all live events and face-to-face activity as safeguarding the health and well-being of communities, practitioners and artists is our primary concern right now.  However, a collective spirit of creativity and co-operation remains buoyant.  We are doubly aware of the impact of social isolation and reduced human contact on wellbeing and we are re-imagining programmes digitally wherever possible. Theatre Orchard’s wider engagement programme will move to regular digital meet-ups, plus a range of bespoke sessions posted online to get you writing, singing, dancing and acting from your homes!  Please follow our social media platforms to keep in the loop.
If you have any questions or needs or would just like to say hello, please contact engage@theatreorchard.org.uk
