Take Part

Participation is an integral part of Theatre Orchard’s programme.  By developing enticing engagement opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds, we aim to build a homegrown community of cultural creators and consumers.  Participation opportunities vary in scale from one-off workshops to larger projects where communities co-create work with professional artists.  Sometimes we even work with local people to physically build performance spaces in their communities!  Growing a creative North Somerset where everyone is able to tap into their inner artist.

Re-discovering Weston’s Heyday

Join us across autumn for a series of circus, theatre and music workshops celebrating Weston’s heyday as a Mecca of fun, frolics and entertainment, inspired by the seaside memorabilia collection at Weston’s newly reopened Museum. Launched in style by the Weekend of Wonders event in the Italian Gardens at the end of September, these workshops for all ages will ensure a bit of fun-loving ta-dah factor right through the Autumn.
Delivered in partnership with Invisible Circus and Kate Dimbleby these sessions will roll out from the Autumn.  With thanks to Heritage Lottery Fund for their support. More details to follow but to register interest please contact us.

Re:ACT trains young people from 5-19 years in all aspects of performance. Training is provided by experienced tutors who help to build confidence, increase interpersonal skills and create team players. However, Re:ACT’s main aim is to have fun! Term-time sessions take place at Theatre Shop every Saturday from 9.30-11.30am.

Open sessions for teenagers in Weston-super-Mare will also be running from September 2018.  Please keep your eyes peeled for more information!
