Theatre Orchard’s work spans indoor and outdoor spaces in Weston-super-Mare, and recent venues have included Weston Museum, Old Town Quarry, Italian Gardens, the beach and ‘Tropicana’, the iconic venue for Banksy’s ‘Dismaland’.
Theatre Orchard also brings its ‘Engage’ programme of activity to a wide range of communities within Weston, enabling people to take part in a multitude of exciting and accessible arts, from singing and puppetry to dance and poetry.
Recent projects include ‘Weston’s Heyday’ which celebrated the town’s glory years with events including puppet making at the Museum and ‘Pages of the Sea’, Danny Boyle’s national initiative to mark the 100 year Armistice, which saw thousands of people coming together on the beach at Weston in a poignant and unforgettable gathering of remembrance.
And there have been thrills and spills galore, as the seafront and Italian Gardens have been transformed by spectacular fiestas of outdoor arts and circus, including Weekend of Wonders, featuring international artists and jaw-dropping acts, guaranteed to take your breath away!
